Investment Process

We combine quantitative methods of securities analysis with conventional research to maximize the performance of our clients' portfolios. Starting with a broad universe of companies, we use computer models to identify quality companies with strong growth prospects and then follow up with fundamental research.

Diversified High Quality Universe of Equities

We primarily use financial data bases, quality screens, proprietary quantitative models and secondary research materials for our analytical work. These components are integrated in a process to identify candidate securities in a universe of over 8,000 companies. We believe a diversified stock portfolio which is built through disciplined stock selection and is tilted toward growth sectors of the economy will maximize long term returns.

Growth Style Focusing on Large Capitalization Securities

Our quantitative investment process uses computer models to evaluate stock valuation, company earnings momentum, and technical price trends in order to rank stocks as candidates for purchase. Candidates are added to our buy list if fundamental research uncovers no major negative investment concerns. Once attractive issues are identified, the principals compare portfolio cash positions with the buy list to determine if portfolio additions are appropriate. Depending on the capital gains consequences for individual clients, low rated securities also may be sold and replaced with more attractive holdings.

Strategic Market Analysis

Weekly review of economic events combined with analysis of output from our investment models alerts us to any changes in the capital markets which might merit an overall change in investment strategy. These changes are infrequent but can result in either raising cash as a defensive measure or putting cash back to work. However, we are not market timers and prefer to be as fully invested as each client's targeted asset allocation permits in order to take advantage of the long term appreciation potential of equities.
